Project Overview

A high-performance research paper search and document delivery platform built with PHP and MySQL, engineered from the ground up for speed while indexing and querying 2–3 million+ academic and medical research records. The system delivers fast response times through optimized schema design, targeted indexing, and efficient query execution across identifiers such as title, author, journal, PMID, DOI, and accession numbers. The platform integrates Stripe Checkout with two distinct payment and fulfillment flows: an instant delivery option for immediately available documents, and a delayed delivery option with a 5–6 day fulfillment window offered at a lower price point. Each Stripe Checkout session is dynamically generated based on the selected research paper and delivery type, ensuring every transaction is explicitly tied to both the document and the chosen service level. Transaction metadata—including document identifiers, delivery mode, pricing, and timestamps—is stored within Stripe and the application database, enabling full traceability, automated post-payment workflows, and clear purchase visibility for clients.
